What travellers say on Google
These are reviews published on Google, not on Retreat Ledger. We show them because a listing with no first-hand accounts yet still deserves some evidence, but they are not moderated by us and they never affect the Retreat Ledger Score. Google returns at most five, chosen by them, so treat this as a sample rather than the full picture.
Beautiful property with self-service relaxation. —————— We have stayed at Two Bunch Palms three times, which is why writing this is disappointing. —————— The property is beautiful, but beauty can only carry an experience so far which you feel it immediately. —————— From the moment you arrive, you are on your own to figure things out. —————— Coffee has rules. Food has rules. Pool service has rules. By my third visit, I had adapted so well to the hotel’s inefficiencies that I brought my own water boiler. Unfortunately, getting a mug still required effort. —————— The better concrete tubs require reservations in rigid 60–90 minute windows, while the less desirable ones are first-come, first-served. QR ordering sounds convenient until you realize it comes with hidden workarounds and disconnected processes. Even receiving an Instacart delivery turned into a mini investigation involving the gate, lobby, and bell staff. —————— The staff were generally polite and trying, but they were constantly compensating for a poorly run operation. —————— The biggest irony is that I came here to disconnect from managing complexity at work and in life, yet found myself troubleshooting inefficiencies on vacation. —————— Hospitality used to mean service here which over years shifted to self-service with a tip prompt at checkout.
Read on GoogleOur second time here, and it was a truly magical trip. The food was really, really good. In fact, I remembered it as much better than the year before when we were here, so kudos to them. We enjoyed soaking a lot. Every single morning, I would get up and find a pool and soak and enjoy coffee, and it was relaxing, just what we needed at this time. Highly recommend.
Read on GoogleWhat a stunning property. You will be taking pictures everywhere you go! The soaking tubs are an absolute must, make sure to reserve one for a time before check-in, so you can arrive and immediately start relaxing. The restaurant on site is delicious and has a nice modernized vintage desert look to it. Staff is wonderful and attentive! The rooms are nice, but our king room felt a little bare with the way the furniture is arranged, but we loved the bathroom and the bed was very cozy!
Read on GoogleIt was a nice getaway but lots of areas for improvement: Room- needed maintenance and improvements. Got the desert king, which is the most affordable room on the property but still cost $430/night. The room was not properly cleaned as there were hair on robes and in the shower/sink, ac was old and loud, toilet seat was peeling, no place to hang your towels, screen door was falling, and the walls were thin. Soaking tubs- Some of the teak tubs were coated with plaster. The ones that were not need some maintenance done. The cement ones were nice at night as it was too hot to use during the day unless you find one that is fully shaded. Also, there were towels left on the lounge chairs after use and staff didn’t come collect them so it was hard to tell if the chairs and tubs were taken. They have day passes for the public so it gets crowded. Food- good but overpriced. Id have no problem paying the price if my order came out perfectly but my pancake was burnt on one side, steak was tough, and salad was missing a key ingredient (kale) that they failed to inform me they are missing… but the taste is good! Service- Everyone was friendly and nice. They are not detailed oriented but friendly and pleasant. Location- right next to the road and sound travels so it’s not in a completely quiet area. However, there are rooms and tubs that are away from the road.
Read on GoogleWhere do I start…we had the most relaxing couples weekend here! From the minute we entered the property it was nothing but warm welcomes and such happy friendly faces! The staff were all so nice and helpful! The property is beautiful and the duck pond was my favorite spot to tan! The massage was the best I’ve had so far! The food was yummy and so fresh! We had a suite with a private soaking tub which I highly recommend! The shower head and temp controlled knob were my favorite things about our room! Definitely made it hard to want to leave your room to go explore! I’m looking forward to making this a yearly trip to relax and reset! Thank you Two Bunch Palms!
