About Retreat Ledger™

A standard for an industry built on trust

Retreats ask for your time, your money, and often your most fragile hopes. We think that deserves more than beautiful photography.

The Mission

Every serious purchase has a ledger. Except this one.

Zillow gave home buyers the numbers. TripAdvisor gave travelers each other. The Michelin Guide gave diners a standard worth trusting. The retreat industry, now a global market worth billions, still has none of the three. A weekend that costs as much as a used car is routinely booked on the strength of a drone shot and a testimonial the organizer chose.

Retreat Ledger exists to close that gap. We are an independent review and discovery directory for retreats: wellness and yoga, leadership and executive, grief and healing, couples, faith, adventure, and everything in between. We collect firsthand reviews, moderate every one, and distill them into the Retreat Ledger Score, a transparent rating across the ten dimensions that actually decide whether a retreat was worth it.

The goal is simple to say and slow to build: that no one ever again books a retreat on marketing alone.

We work for the guest, full stop

Retreat Ledger is not a travel agency. We do not sell retreats, process bookings, or earn a commission when you choose one. Retreat owners can purchase clearly labeled featured placement to be seen more often, and that is the whole of our commercial relationship with them. Placement never touches a score, never reorders a review, and never buys a Verified badge. The moment money could bend the ledger, the ledger would be worthless. So it cannot.

A Note from the Founder

I spent my career helping families make careful decisions about the things they could not afford to get wrong. A retreat asks for something rarer than money. It asks for your time, your trust, and often a hope you have told no one else about. People deserve to know exactly what they are walking into. That is the whole idea behind Retreat Ledger, and we will not complicate it.

What We Stand For

Independent. Trusted. Transformational.

Independent

We are not a travel agency and we do not take booking commissions. No retreat can pay us for a better score, a kinder review, or a quieter criticism. Our only loyalty is to the person deciding where to go.

Trusted

Every review is moderated by a person before it is published. Scores are built from firsthand accounts across ten dimensions, from safety to transparency, so you can see exactly where a retreat is strong and where it is not.

Transformational

A good retreat can change the direction of a life. We take that seriously. Our work is to make sure the retreats that truly deliver are the ones that get found.
