I had the privilege to stay at Finca Luna for five days and was unforgettable. The ability to live in the rainforest, amongst the most amazing plants and wildlife is just extraordinary and difficult to adequately describe. On top of that, the accommodations are beautiful, comfortable and the staff is absolutely top-tier humans, truly though every person I met in Costa Rica was. After being there a short time, it almost felt as though the staff, especially those in the restaurant. We're almost friends. Their knowledge of English was impressive and their understanding while we fumbled through our Spanish was caring and kind. If only Americans could show the same patience and understanding to those speaking, another language in the US. Of the tours they offer we loved the early morning birding tour and the night tour. We were lucky enough to have Jason as our tour guide for both and he was wonderful. Incredibly knowledgeable and had a tru joy, passion and high amount of knowledge for what he did. We also did the medicinal herb class and that was so lovely as well, I can't remember the person's name, I have a terrible memory and we only spent an hour together but he was an absolute Joy, had worked for the lodge for many, many years and his passion for what he does and for nature was so evident. We can't wait to try the tinctures that we made in a few more weeks when they're ready. Wrapping up the chores, are most surprising tour of all that we did in Costa Rica was the Farmers market tour provided at Finca Luna. I don't want to spoil the details but do it. Hugo is someone that I wish I could remain friends with once I'm back home now. Our time on that tour was one that I will absolutely never forget. The amounts of botanicals plant and tree species, insects reptiles amphibians mammals that we saw just while on the grounds at Finca was enough to call our trip to Costa Rica. Incredible just on their own. If you're thinking about booking here you should. We stayed in a family bungalow Number 7 and it would be the one that I recommend if you want the utmost amount of privacy while staying in the bungalows. The views from the hammock, the main resting/hanging out spot from that bungalow other then the two chairs outsid by it ( everything else is beds) haa such a gorgeous view, a sweet Rufous Tailed Hummingbird (download the Merlin app if you don't already have it!!) as well as the sweetest reticulated lubber grasshopper family (Seek App, love it!) and close enough access to the family bungalow refrigerator and coffee maker (shared between the 4 bungalows) To recap - Finca gets a strong 7 out of 5 stars for me.

An incredible eco-lodge. The food was truly amazing with great variety of fresh, local, and tasty with so many vegan and vegetarian options. The staff were all friendly. We really enjoyed the cocoa tour and walking the trails (although the holey bricks they use are very challenging to walk on as only half your foot can be on the brick at once). We saw sloths, beautiful frogs, and lots of birds and butterflies. The pool and hot tub were in a peaceful setting.

Finca Luna Nueva ended up being one of those trips that just completely pulls you in and stays with you long after you leave. We spent a lot of time walking the trails around the property, and it was easy to just wander without much of a plan. There was always something interesting to stop and look at, and it never felt crowded or overdone. The chocolate-making class and farm tour were highlights, especially with kids. You really get your hands involved and walk away understanding the entire process from plant to final product. And somehow, right alongside that, the farm had a batch of chicks at the perfect stage for curious kids. Ours were thrilled to hold them, and it turned into one of those unexpectedly memorable moments. Also, the farm-to-table approach isn’t just a concept here, it’s genuinely reflected in every meal. Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and connected to the land around you, which made eating there part of the experience rather than just something you do between activities. And through all of it, the staff were incredibly accommodating in a way that felt natural, not scripted. Whether it was helping us navigate activities with kids or just making sure we were comfortable, they struck that perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering. By the end of the trip, we felt more connected, not just as a family, but also to the other families we met there, which made the whole experience even more special. Thank you for the incredible memories!!

We recently spent a week at Finca Nueva Lodge and couldn’t recommend it more highly. The setting is truly magical—surrounded by nature in a way that feels both peaceful and immersive. The food was consistently delicious, and the overall vibe of the property struck that perfect balance between relaxed and special. What really made the experience stand out was the staff. They were warm, funny, and incredibly accommodating, going out of their way to make our stay memorable. The location is ideal—close enough to easily access all the major activities in the area, yet tucked away so you feel like you’re in your own private oasis. This place is something special. Don’t hesitate—book a room right away!

Amazing service, atmosphere, and overall vacation at Finca Luna Nueva lodge! Love the smaller property atmosphere with very friendly staff and they answered all of our questions and helped us out when we had rental car troubles one of the days. The food is delicious, breakfast every morning is a selection of typical Costa Rican food right from the farm. The property is beautiful to walk with some lovely trails and things to see. Only a short 30 min drive to La fortuna where there are more things to do. The farm has a rustic, farm to table, eco charm and is a perfect spot for a family vacation. Shout out to Melina at the front desk reception for all of her help.
