What travellers say on Google
These are reviews published on Google, not on Retreat Ledger. We show them because a listing with no first-hand accounts yet still deserves some evidence, but they are not moderated by us and they never affect the Retreat Ledger Score. Google returns at most five, chosen by them, so treat this as a sample rather than the full picture.
Just left this little piece of heaven. You won’t find a better resort that has so much offer. We took 3 to 4 different yoga classes, Pilates, Barre, meditation classes, etc. each day! From front desk to hostesses, waiters and instructors, everyone was first class. Thank you Dubreska, Angelica, Veronica, Anton and the Italian guest instructor whose name I’m blanking on. You were all fabulous in your own ways. The premises are gorgeous and well kept. The two restaurants are fabulous, offering delicious meals and very reasonably priced. I can’t wait to come back!
Read on GoogleMy Civana experience was truly magical in every way. I can’t say enough amazing things about the dining menus, spa services and amenities, the workout and wellness classes, the incredible hospitality staff that were so kind every single day, and the warmest and most welcoming shuttle driver (shout out to Tom 🫶🏽) to and from the airport. I can’t recommend this experience enough especially if you’re looking to unwind and unplug for a couple of days and enjoy the Arizona desert. Whether you’re traveling solo or in a group, Civana offers the best opportunities to realign and reconnect your mind, body, and spirit in the best way possible.
Read on GoogleOverall awesome staff and massage was great. Amenities aren’t 5 star though. It’s nice but not Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons or even JW Marriott etc nice. With the same prices. They could 100% update the spa lounge furniture and pool probably as well. The pool itself was okay but with the amount of amazing hotels in the area I’m surprised this gets as high of reviews as it does. Also, quiet zones were not in-forced and the only room where couples could relax together which was also the room to wait for your massages in, they left the door to the hallway open which made the quiet zone not a relaxing quiet zone at all. People kept closing the door and staff kept opening it. The hallway had a ton of noise echoing - voices, doors closing it sounded like an office building. Awful. With all the options in the overall Scottsdale area I probably wouldn’t come back. Oh yeah and they also had nowhere to eat lunch except by the pool. In a pool chair It was windy so no umbrellas in 92 degree heat. No one wants to eat in the heat. Everyone was upset about it. They need an area in the shade with lunch tables. The spa cafe is close by but not a spa vibe so not the same.
Read on GoogleJust came back from 5 days at Civana Wellness Resort and Spa. The service here was OUTSTANDING. From the front desk, to the restaurant, the instructors, the spa service providers... I've never experienced anything like it. I am so grateful to everyone who made our stay feel incredibly special! Our one bedroom suite was huge. Slept 3 but could easily have slept 4. (ask for linens and extra mattresses for comfort on the pullout couch). The spa was heaven. Each treatment was better than the last! The spa pool was mostly full of folks resting and retreating, mostly quietly respectful, even on a busy holiday weekend. Book classes early. We booked ours two months in advance and got everything we wanted. People who waited were surprised to find so many classes full when they got to the resort. This is because they keep the classes to manageable sizes, which makes for a great experience! We did several classes/experiences you had to pay extra for, and I got the sense they tried hard to make those classes really "worth" the extra cost. The food at Terras was good! I was worried because I'd read some reviews that suggested otherwise. But I enjoyed everything I ordered... Sure, it's expensive, like most hotel restaurants these days, but we paid for the all-inclusive package partially so we wouldn't have to feel stressed about the prices. The only thing that would bump this resort up is if it backed up onto some kind of hiking trails. You cannot hike off property; it is surrounded by a residential neighborhood. You can sign-up to go on a hike nearby, which is definitely worth doing, considering the amazing natural landscape, and the guides who teach you about the history and natural phenomena in the area are fantastic. I am already dreaming of the day I can return to Civana!
Read on GoogleI visited CIVANA Wellness Resort & Spa on a My room was very nice—the bed faced a large bay window with stunning views of the surrounding scenery and beautiful cactuses, which made mornings especially peaceful. solo trip and had a wonderful experience overall. I returned home feeling refreshed, restored, and re-energized. The calming atmosphere, warm Arizona weather, and breathtaking ambience made it the perfect wellness escape. The spa was beautiful, and my massage was excellent—truly one of the highlights of the trip. The wellness classes were phenomenal, and I loved meeting other guests who were also traveling solo. The food was good, though I would have loved to see more options. Overall, I’d rate this experience an 8/10 and would definitely recommend CIVANA for anyone looking for a peaceful, rejuvenating wellness retreat.
